How to get mentioned by ChatGPT and AI assistants
No one can guarantee a mention. These practices raise your chances: clear facts, readable pages, open crawlers and real third-party signals.

Can I guarantee ChatGPT will mention my business?
No. AI assistants decide what to cite, and the systems change often. Anyone promising a mention is guessing. What you can do is make your business easy to find, easy to read and easy to trust, which improves your chances in AI answers and in ordinary search at the same time.
What do AI answers draw on?
Assistants combine what a model learned with pages fetched at the time of the question. Search-connected assistants read the open web through their own crawlers and partner indexes. That means pages that are public, fast, well structured and clearly about one thing have an advantage over pages that are vague or hidden behind scripts.
What should I change on my site?
- Write answer-first. Put the direct answer in the first one or two sentences under each question heading, then add detail.
- Give each service its own page, with who it is for, what is included and how to start.
- State facts plainly: who you are, where you work, what you do and who you do it for. Keep them identical across the site, your profiles and your listings.
- Add structured data (Schema.org JSON-LD) for the organization, the services and the people.
- Publish an llms.txt file that summarizes the business and links to the key pages. It is a convention, not a ranking factor, and it costs little.
Which crawlers should I allow?
Check your robots.txt. If you want to appear in AI search results, allow the search crawlers, such as OpenAI's OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Google's standard crawlers. Training crawlers, such as GPTBot and Google-Extended, are a separate choice: blocking them does not remove you from search, but allowing them may help models learn about you. Decide per bot and write the decision down.
Do reviews and mentions matter?
Yes. Assistants lean on signals that others trust you: reviews on Google and industry sites, mentions in articles, directory profiles and case studies that name you. Earn these honestly. Fake reviews are detected and can remove you from results.
How do I check where I stand?
Ask the questions your customers ask, in several assistants, and note whether you appear and what is said. Repeat monthly, because answers change. Fix wrong facts at the source: your site, your profiles and any directory that repeats them.
